UNIVERSITY STUDENTS RIOT OVER INSECURITY
A large congregation of students gathering at the student’s center with all sorts of sounds “we want VC” “we want ….VC” tone repeats as it gains power progressively. The students join hands to mourn the demise of a fellow comrade who was found dead at a place near Mbiyo residential.
As time ticks the crowd was becoming large that the students’ leaders had to come out and sort out the issue before it worsens. “The security issue will be sorted out as soon as possible” a comment left by Guyo a representative in the security docket.
As if he had said nothing but a fruitless comment, the heat goes from bad to worse. What were their expectations then?.
“We go we go” “we go we go”……where were they going, to the administration block to meet with the vice chancellor. The students who termed themselves as comrades matched towards the administration screaming and raising theirs “flags” stems with leafs. Lecturers and workers who owned private cars drive their cars at a speed which they had never since their feet pressed the accelerator for fear of being stoned or even being set on fire by the rowdy students as they did to the police land rover a day before
The academic highway is now covered by men and women with frowning faces demanding for an immediate action. One could not even see the tarmac in the highway they call it the meaning of comrade power.
At the face of university administration building. Workers had shunned their offices for ferar of being attacked while others peeped from their windows. The entrance was left with the liberty of security guards. The students leaders assembled the comrades outside the building hoping that the vice chancellor professor Mibey will address the in a short while.
Comrades…power, comrades….power this was the only slogan which had the power to bring the comrades into terms with the person addressing them. After the slogan one of the leaders made it to cool down their heat. “a ladies must be accommodated inside the university”….yes the comrades answered with a powerful uniform tune, a symbol of unity. He went on and asked for security backups in the university.
The men and women were impatient; they picked up their song from where they left. “We go.. We go..” they demanded to meet the VC inside the building but their efforts were watered down by the security guards and their representatives. After a few minutes, the representative of the vice chancellor stood in front of the students. “Who are you” was the question from some students which welcomed the man to the stage. He never answered. The man with his low tone which left majority of the students wondering what he said, assured the comrades of security back up in the university. He also mentioned that all ladies will be accommodated inside the university. “our security system will be backed up as soon as possible” he said.
As if that was not enough the comrades went on rioting towards the stage. What happened at the stage? Unbelievable……………..
when comrades cooperate in demonstration miracles happens within seconds
