The suffering behind wearing a damp underwear
Matt Son Sang
Wet underwear could be the cause of your health “down there” problems. Research has shown that most men as compared to women rarely dry their under wears in broad daylight. Little did they know that they are slowly propagating the growth of fungal diseases, at least some understand this but it is encouraging too that others are getting it clear now. Both men and women can be infected as a result of damp underwear hence relevant to both sexes.
Dr. Moore says that, a worm moist environment caused by damp underwear is the perfect place for yeast to grow. Yeast infection also known as candidiasis, is caused by yeast known as Candida albicans. Yeast infections usually happen in the moist areas of the skin including the mouth. When the infection affects the vagina, is called vuvlvovaginal Candidiasis. Since Candida thrives in warm and moist areas, wet undies are the perfect place for them to attack, please keep them dry always to avoid these diseases.
Yeast infection can also commonly affect the skin of the penis in men. Male thrush is caused by wearing damp undies and occurs in the pubic zone and between the scrotum and anus. This is characterized by intense itching and burning along with inflammation, this condition demands treatment to avoid serious complications requiring long term treatment. They always say prevention is better that cure hence avoid putting on wet clothes.
Wearing wet clothing can also cause ringworm infection which is a common fungal infection that affects the skin and nails. Ringworms cause some itchy red circular rushes on your hands, toenails, scalp, groin, inner thighs and buttocks. These fungi are present in the damp environment like damp clothes, public showers and bathroom floor.
Furthermore, putting on the underwear without first drying practically invites pathogens to colonize “there” a condition known as intertrigo. This is an inflammatory condition of the skin folds such as buttocks and groin caused by heat, moisture, maceration, friction and lack of air circulation. This causes opposing skin surfaces which rub against each other to corrode and become inflamed. Sweat, urine and vaginal discharge may aggravate the condition in both adults and infants. To avoid the lengths of treatment, avoid these infections by wearing fresh cotton clothes, dry under wears and don’t forget to always change your sweaty of wet clothes and inner wear as soon as possible.
