Students in Moi University engage in various surprising activities during the weekend to relieve them from the week’s lectures.
After attending lectures throughout the week, students in campus involve themselves in various activities outside learning. About 20% visit the library to do some group work and take away assignments as the rest of the students take other forms of relaxing.
Most students engage in drinking in the bars, a situation which has been found to contribute to the failure of students failing to complete their degrees. According to Ben, drinking excessively is one of the most disadvantageous forms of relaxing your mind. Ben failed to graduate after four years because of missing marks in some of the courses. “I’m regretting having made a wrong decision which has made me not to graduate” he said.
Some students in the campus give other reasons why it is vital to choose wisely on how to spend your weekend. One of the students also was stabbed with a knife after he went for a birthday party. The victim met with the knife after he was found dancing suggestively with someone’s girlfriend. “I was about to lose my life in the name of partying with friends, I had to be careful since I witnessed a painful warning he said.
5g researchers achieve record speed Record –breaking speeds have been achieved during tests of 5G data connections, scientists have said. Researchers in the university of Surrey’s 5G innovation centre managed one terabit per second (Tbps) which is many thousands of times faster than current data connections. The head of the 5GIC said he hoped to demonstrate the technology to the public in 2018. Ofcom has said 5G could be available in Britain by 2020. At 1Tbps, it would be theoretically be possible to download a file 100 times the size of a feature film in about 3 seconds. The speed is more than 65,000 times faster than the average 4G download speeds. According to news website V3, 5GIC director prof Rahim Tafazoli said: “we have developed 10 more breakthrough technologies and one of them means we can exceed 1Tbps wirelessly. This is the same capacity as fibreoptics but we are doing it wirelessly” (BBC NEWS).
Its a personal choice to either serve the lord of alcohol or serve the lord of education. the two cannot not go hand in hand but mutual balance can work out for the experts.
